I am looking for a pattern for knitted beanie for children.
Knitted Beanie from www.craftbits.com
Child sized 3-9 years
Size 10 knitting needles
2 oz (50g) bright colored worsted weight yarn
Cast on 60 sts.
Row one: K2, P2, K2 across line, ending with P2.
Rows 2 to row 6: Repeat Row 1.
Row 7: Knit across
Row 8: Purl across
Repeat these 2 rows until hat is 8 from the start and, ending with a purl row.
1st decrease row- K2 together across the row.
Next row: Purl
Next row: K2 together across
Last row: Purl across.
Cut a 12 length of yarn, thread a yarn needle. Carefully pull the last row of knitting from the needle and thread the needle through every stitch. Pull tightly then whip stitch the seam shut.
Add a Pom Pom to the top of the beanie and it is complete.
You can go to ravelry.com or coatsandclark.com. They all have free patterns. Many yarn company would have these patterns.
i crochet a simple hat but knitting can be used the same way... measure around that head of the child and them make your base row that long... knit or k and P your desired rows approx...20 to 25 rows... bind off. putting rt sides together mattress sttch up the side and then weave a length of yarn ad gather top typing off.. add pom pom if desided on top....
