I bought one Lock and Lock container about a year ago to try it and see if it would help us. We have such a problem in summer here with humidity getting into our food and ruining it. Also food going stale. And also tiny tiny bugs getting into everything.
Anyway, I looked at the Lock and Lock in the store. It has a good gasket seal around it and seemed to lock securely. So I brought it home and tried it with a sleeve of saltines. Normally within a week of opening a sleeve it's stale, and if I put it in any other container, it might last another week.
But with the Lock and Lock I have crackers in there now that I opened 2 months ago and ate some last night and they were as crisp as if they were brand new! I have since bought many more containers of all sizes and keep just about everything in them. Sugar, creamer, tea bags, brown sugar (doesn't get hard either), noodles, raisins, cereal, just to name a few. My trucker husband even keeps some in his truck to keep some of his foods in. He especially likes them for his snacks because the container is easy for him to open and close while he's driving. And it keeps his food fresh longer even with the heat and humidity that he has to deal with out there on the road.
I've noticed lately that another brand has come out with them too that are a little cheaper. I plan on trying those too. But I'm constantly buying them. I even keep my dog food and dog treats in them!

I have so many pieces of Lock and Lock I get all mine from QVC they have sets and so many different pieces and colors they egg carton, bread holder, cake holders they have a full hr of Lock and lock from time to time,but you can see it all on line at QVC.com

If you are storing wheat or flour products of any type place a couple of Bay Leafs inside the containers like top and bottom even one in the middle and you will not have bugs. Also you can toss a few in your cupboard and it keeps the pesty bugs out of there too! I also use them in my food storage bins for Emergency Prep Food. (06/16/2009)

I noticed that Thrifty Fun wanted tips to organize your pantry...mine is simply lock 'n locks. Air tight and water tight.
I too noticed that Rubbermaid is now making them and I believe that they are made in the USA. I'd try them, but I really have enough lock 'n locks already. They are great! (06/17/2009)
Was able to get 'Lock & Lock' at Walmart! Had been buying the imitation ones and I can see no difference between them, except the lower price of the imitations! (06/17/2009)

I love Lock and Lock Storage! They are also great for use in a cooler because they are absolutely water tight. My husband also uses them to take soup to work for lunch. I have also used a brand called Snapware that is a little more "nestable" than the original Lock and Lock. They sell Lock and Lock on QVC in some unique configurations. If you really like them it's a good place to look if you have a specific food storage need. (07/10/2009)

LOVE this tip. Will get some for sure. Hey, how about one or two for keeping make-up in? I have read keeping your makeup in the bathroom shortens and damages makeup because of the humidity. Being that the Lock n Locks are airtight. Gonna' get some tomorrow! (08/20/2009)
