A token with a personal touch is much more valuable than ready made ones. It's the thought that counts, they say. So here's an idea for a pop-up greeting card you can make with your children for their teachers. This can also be made for any occasion.
2 sheets plain paper
floral printed paper
double sided tape
Start by drawing the letters for your greetings.
Let your kids help in coloring them.
Cut out the letters, then set aside. Choose the word with the greatest number of letters and count them.
Fold one piece of plain paper into a zigzag or accordion form. The fold must be based on the number of letters you counted. Here in "HAPPY TEACHERS DAY" the word with the greatest number of letter is "TEACHERS" consisting of 8 letters. So we need to make 8 equal folds.
Take another paper and cut into half.
Stick one half onto the end of the accordion. Then the other half onto the opposite side. This will serve as the cover.
Now get the longest word first and start sticking them onto the folds one by one. It should be placed in the center of the paper. Only stick half of the body of the letter onto the paper fold. See attached photo.
Then stick the rest of the letters into position along with other figures/stickers.
Cut out some floral printed paper and design your cover page on the front and back portions.
Add more decorations by using colored paper made into flowers. You can create any figures you want.
Close the card and tie a ribbon around it and your greeting card is done.
