Tips for Getting Control of Your Life?

I'm reading the book Simple Steps by Lisa Lelas, Linda McClintock and Beverly Zingarella. I tried to put it into practice once in the eighties, but life got the better of me. I'm retired now and I want to give it another try. Does anyone have any tips for getting started and keeping momentum?

Normally this is a personal thing and people need to decide what they want most out of life. Setting goals for each day is one way to keep yourself motivated. Taking small steps to make changes is the best and you can see the small improvements each day you wake up. If you try to change too quickly it can be overwhelming and you will give up and not want to try again. Take baby steps and keep at it each day. There might be some days it just isn't working but don't give up and go on the next day.

I started with a journal/reflection book. They have lots of these around that cater to everyone with different categories inside like goal setting, financial, wellness, personal, and even a for fun section. I love mine because I can set a goal the beginning of the month and work towards my goal ,while reflecting along the way as a reminder. Maybe try Yoga too!

wow I would like to see these writers; I love stuff like this and I'd never heard of these writers

The nice thing about the internet is there's lots of great writers who will daily send things to your inbox

Some that I like are

Marie Forleo (business and life oriented)

James Clear (habits and self actualization)

Louise Hay (she's now deceased but I like her views on
health/healing/psychology and her center is still operational)

Benjamin Hardy (lots of habits/ productivity but also an angle on making $ which can or can not be useful, depending)

Barbara Sher (very inspirational approach)

Mark Manson (he's sort of off-the-cuff, lots of cuss words, but has an interesting no-nonsense perspective)

the site Medium.com in general is a great resource for people writing about self improvement, habit-building, productivity, etc. Here's a sample of some articles I have on queue:
medium.com/.../20-simple-ways-to-live-your-life...

medium.com/.../how-to-be-memorable-in-social-settings...

anyway, that's just off the top of my head
