Yes you can take him to dinner or lunch or to a movie, a gift card for haircuts, or any type of gift cards.
Maybe a DVD or a nice throw blanket; or both. Hope that helps :)
Does he have any hobbies? reading, woodworking, boardgames, cards, darts, gardening??? Gift cards are always good.
