I am planning a vegetarian thanksgiving and I am looking for some good recipes that will not have meat but still capture some of the flavor of a good Thanksgiving meal. Any advice, recipes or tips would be great.

Nicky, I think it's great that you are wanting to do a vegetarian Thanksgiving. We are a semi-vegetarian (lacto-ovo) family with eating fish and turkey very occasionally. I have found the cookbook "Passionate Vegetarian" extremely helpful. Try checking this huge book out at the library. Also, you can make a really good gravy with Lipton onion soup mix.

LOL! If you eat fish or turkey, you are not a vegetarian : )

I know this post is late but maybe for next time?

I made a stuffing with vegetarian sausage this past Thanksgiving and mashed potatoes with vegetarian gravy. I also made various veggies. It was all really quite enough : )
Watch out for items that do not specifically say vegetarian because many things you would not think of have animal fat it them.
