Mix flour, 1/2 cup butter, and 2 Tbsp. water with a fork and round into a ball. Divide in half. Shape into 2 3x12 inch strips. Place 3 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Mix 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup water in saucepan. Bring to boil and remove from heat. Add 1 cup flour and almond flavoring. Stir flour in quickly to prevent lumping.
