Peeling a Pineapple

When I peel a pineapple, I slice it in the thickness that I want. Then I stick a knife inside the skin and cut around the skin and I push out the pineapple till all of the skin is removed.

I don't waste time or pineapple. My friend Elizabeth did it at a party and that's the way I still do it. It's less fussy and preserves most of the pineapple. I cut the top and bottom off of the pineapple. I lay the pineapple down and do my best to slice it thru the middle from top to bottom. All the way through. I end up with 2 halves. Then I repeat the slice, creating 4 long quarters. I slice out the cores of each of these quarters. then lay each quarter on one of its flat sides and create many triangular sections that each still have the pineapple skin on the outside but can be grasped in hand and eaten. This way most of the pineapple is edible.
