Work Any Oil Into The Hinge

Gold Post Medal for All Time! 969 Posts

I keep a small spray bottle full of baby oil. I have also used salad oil and Skin So Soft, but Dollar Tree's is just fine. I spray the hinges and the problem goes away. However, I always keep a folded up old cloth under the hinges, as it tends to drip.

Open and close the doors several times once you are done to work the oil into the hinge and you are golden!

I find it easier to spray the hinges with a cooking spray like Pam.

Best to buy oil intended for that purpose. Machine oil is not expensive. If you use other oil such as baby oil or cooking oil it will tend to gunk up after a while and you will have to clean it out.

It is always best to use things for their intended purpose in the right way.
