  • 3 cups brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 cup hot water
  • flour
  • 1 cup finely chopped walnuts

Mix together the brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, baking soda, water and walnuts. Add enough flour to make dough stiff so that it can be handled easily. Roll dough into finger-sized ropes. Bake at 375 degrees F for 10-20 minutes.

I am looking for a ladyfinger recipe (not a cheesecake). Ingredients included whipping cream, lemon zest(?), then topped with canned cherries.

Ladyfinger Recipe

This past week Martha Stewart made a dessert with lady fingers, whipped cream and used grated chocolate on top looked delicious, looking for the recipe myself (12/11/2005)

Ladyfinger Recipe

Here is a recipe for ladyfingers, not exactly the ingredients that you were looking for, but this turns out awesome:

In a saucepan, combine the milk and half of the sugar. Place over medium heat, and warm, stirring frequently, until it begins to bubble around the edges. Place the rest of the sugar in a bowl, and add the egg yolks and cornstarch. Whisk until pale yellow. Temper the egg yolks by whisking in 1/4 cup of the hot milk. (This raises the temperature of the eggs so they don't scramble when added to other hot ingredients.) Pour the egg mixture into the pot with the milk, and bring to a boil for 1 minute or until it thickens, whisking constantly. Remove from the heat, and stir in the butter and liqueur. Place 2 cookies on each plate. Spoon the pudding over. Stem and pit all but 12 of the cherries. Place the pitted cherries on top of the pudding, and garnish with the remaining cherries. Sprinkle with the shredded coconut, and serve. Serves 6
