Cheese and Tomato Biscuit Pizzas

Fun appetizers snacks ;-)

Ingredients:

  • 2 (7-1/2 oz.) tubes refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1-1/2 tsp. dried minced onion

  • 1 tsp. dried oregano
  • 1 tsp. dried basil
  • 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
  • 8 oz. mozzarella cheese, shredded, or more if you like double cheese
  • 10 cherry tomatoes, halved

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Press biscuits to about 1/2 inch thick and place on greased baking sheet(s).

Combine the tomato sauce, onion, oregano, basil, and garlic powder in a small bowl and spread evenly over the biscuits. Sprinkle with cheese, top each with a tomato half and bake for about 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.

This is a neat idea Deeli. Will work so well for these young people's study groups as they all seem to love Pizza, and I'm getting tired of having to dispose of those pizza delivery boxes.

This biscuit idea will keep down wasted pizza too when they don't eat it all. I can only eat so much pizza for breakfast the following morning. We'll try the biscuit trick on them and see how it works.
