You might try some of the suggestions in the links below. Be sure to test on a less important book if some of your books are antique/sentimental etc.

I have done this many times. Spray the books with lysol and place in the sun. If the mildew shows wipe it off first with a lysol soaked cloth.

It really works. Then place the books in a dry place.
