4-3-2-1 Sloppy Joes
This was my mother's old stand-by recipe for Sloppy Joes. The recipe is probably well over 50 years old.
- 4 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1 cup ketchup
Brown about 1 1/2 pounds ground beef* Drain well. Add all sauce ingredients. (You may add a little water to sauce - it will cook off while simmering). Simmer until sauce is thick.
*My mother would add a chopped onion to the ground beef while cooking - we prefer not to have the onion. If you like onion then add a chopped onion while browning the ground beef
