Electricity Out Breaker Not Tripped?

Two nights ago my air conditioner was on and the light started to flicker. Now I have no power downstairs on the first floor and basement, but the second floor still has power. I checked the breaker for burnt marks and found none. I checked to see if it was warm, but it was not. No breaker was turned off. Then I turned my stove on and suddenly all my power came back on and if stove gets shut off it kills all the power. Any suggestions? Please help.

This needs to have an electrician look at it. I would suspect that all these loads are on the same breaker as the stove. Does turning off the stove breaker kill the other loads? If so, it sounds as if you lost the neutral somewhere. Possibly the breaker panel. (a scenario that can cause a lost neutral: loose connection upon installation followed by heavy usage of electrical equipment causes overheating at bad connection which opens the circuit at that point)
