How can I remove graphite stains from my grandaughter's cotton dress?

The only thing I have found that works is "Awesome" (that concentrated cleaner you buy at most dollar stores). Pour it on, then scrub with a toothbrush & let sit for 15 minutes, then launder.
* Don't put it into the dryer until the stain is completely gone or the heat can set the stain!
