What Breed Is My Dog?

blackish gray and white dogMy Buddy is supposed to be Pomeranian and something I had never heard of before. I can't remember what it was. Buddy picked me, and the feeling was mutual. His tail is curled tight and ears are long.

This is a question asked frequently on the site.

  • The only true way to find out the mixed breed of your dog is through a DNA test.
  • Your vet can do this for you, but many times this is rather expensive. I would ask the price before doing the test.
  • Many pet stores and online markets now sell a home DNA kit for testing your animals. You can buy one of these and do the test yourself at home.
