I think I would try hydrogen peroxide spray on and let dry.

Your comforter can be washed and dried in the dryer (although it takes several times through to get it dry). Use your normal washing supplies and warm water. If the comforter is white you could spot treat it with bleach.

Even if it still has the stain you know it is clean and can be safely used. Maybe with a duvet? Good luck.
