RE: Inexpensive Framing
I just posted a photo of my living room walls using inexpensive molding purchased from Home depot. A miter box is need to make the 45 degree cuts but it's not expensive and not difficult. Whenever you frame out a portion of the wall you can hang whatever you want in the middle of it. Even unframed prints can be "framed" by using finishing nails to frame right on the wall. There are so tiny if you need to take the picture and frame down it is easy to pull the molding off the drywall.

To elaborate to comments herein; Dollar Tree and other $$ Stores are excellent sources for frames; however, I find most of them too tacky to use "as is", so I use fabric, cool papers from scrapbooking and stationary stores, etc to cover up the fake wood look. When you can find wood ones at garage sales and Goodwills, etc, just repaint, after lightly cleaning/sanding, or strip them down to original wood by stripping/sanding off old paint and adding verathane or sealer to use "Au Naturale". One thing many forget, however, is that any and all paper, pulp, and wood frames will eventually RUIN the picture in the frame over time, due to the content not only of the frame, but of the content of the picture and/or stitchery. Be sure if you are framing family pictures or nice needlework or artwork you consider valuable, that you always use acid free, lingin free, and wood product free paper, pens, and frames, and frame backing that will touch the touch the framed item itself.
Lastly, I have one room in my house in which I have very few pictures/prints on the wall. Instead, since the walls are painted a nice color, I simply stripped, cleaned and painted about 13 frames of various shapes, sizes, and textures and spray painted them all white -- with nothing in them. A few are centered over mirrors or simple prints or pix torn from calendars, etc, but for the most part they simply frame the wall and show off the beauty of the frame. Very pretty and light in effect and it opens the room up tremendously. Whatever you do, Just have fun doing it!! Best of luck. Michele

Streacher frames at your local craft store are great for art work. You can paint them or stencil them or glue nuts in their shells on them, sea shells on them, sticks cut from trees look cute.( sticks need a few day to dry after cutting for shrinkage, then gule with tackey glue) You can have a mirror cut and put into the back them. They are super. Go Nuts!!!!

Besides Flea Markets, yard sales, estate sales and thrift shops, Dollar Stores!!! One in particular called $Tree is my favorite store for just about anything. And if all else fails, go to the lumber yard, get some quarter round & some brads. Measure, saw, nail together, or use heavy duty staple gun. Finish as desired. Put picture on back with some kind of backing as well. Put a few brads in appropriate places. Bend some down to keep picture in, bend 2 into loops to tie some wire onto for hanging & voila! You can also use little screw eyes for the wire holders or just screw one into the top & hang picture with it. Small cup hooks can sometimes be bent almost closed for this job. - Linne Dodds

I have often picked up really tacky prints in decent frames, and then put my own picture over the print! You can find excellent prices on seasonal stuff at the end of the season -- like Christmas prints in January, for example. - Cassie

Check at Thrift Stores, Flea Markets and Garages sales. Sometimes WalMart or even Office Depot can have some fairly inexpensive frames if they must be new. You can also find nice mats there to fit the pictures. - Sally R.

Have you been to garage sales ? Alot of them have very inexpensive frames. If you do not like the picture that is in it..take it out and just use the frame. The frames can be painted in alot of different ways. good luck !
