When preparing iceberg lettuce for serving, break it apart instead of cutting it with a knife to help prevent it from browning.
The first thing is to only use stainless steel knives when cutting anything that would brown. Using any kind of lemon juice (bottle or fresh) dampen a napkin with juice and wipe your blade before starting and a couple more time through the cut process. Before placing unused lettuce in a zip lock bag, wipe all cut surfaces of lettuce. It helps tremendously keeping the lettuce pretty till the next use.
