Cream well. Add 1/2 cup powdered sugar; stir well. Sift in 1 3/4 cups flour.
Add:
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup black walnuts, grated or chopped fine
Mix all together and chill. Make small balls, size of peanut. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10 minutes at 400 degrees F or until just begin to brown. Remove from oven and roll in powdered sugar before putting away. Roll in powdered sugar again. Let stand day or two.
Yeah, I agree, I think the title should be "Wedding Cookies". That's what my Mom always called them. But I know some people also call them "Mexican Wedding Cakes" - either way, they are yummy!

Should these be titled as cookies? Or are the directions for making them into a cake missing? Thanks!
