This is a favorite of my husband's, but I must confess, I really don't care for it myself. He loves this over biscuits!
Ingredients:
8 slices sausage
4 Tbsp. flour
2 cups milk
Directions:
Fry about 8 slices of sausage, crumbled. When the sausage is done, mix in the flour and let brown. Add milk mixture. Stir until desired thickness. Add salt and pepper to taste.
I make this frequently. It has a name that came from the military. lol S... on Shingles.

And just a bit of butter :) You can also make it with hamburger or a mix of both meats. This is my father's favorite breakfast on toast.
They serve this at Hardees as well, very inexpensive breakfast. They also have the gravy on basically small tater tots with cheddar cheese but I haven't tried this yet.

Cook sausage, stirring until it crumbles. Remove sausage and drain on paper towel, reserving 1 Tbsp. drippings. Whisk flour into hot drippings, add milk until thick. Stir in sausage, salt and pepper. Let simmer for about 10 minutes. Pour over hot biscuits.
