Organic Scones

Ingredients

  • 2 cups organic flour (pastry)
  • 2 Tbsp. organic cane sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking power
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 6 Tbsp. organic valley butter
  • 1 large organic egg
  • 2/3 cup organic milk

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. In a large bowl, use a fork to mix the dry ingredients. Cut butter into the mixture until it forms coarse crumbles (do not stir). In a cup, mix egg and milk. Stir milk mixture into flour mixture, just until blended. Drop batter by 1/4 cup, about 1 inch apart onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve them warm or wrap in foil to reheat later. Spread with creamy organic valley butter and enjoy.

I make sure all of the ingredients are very cold when mixing this up. The butter is frozen and you grate it very fine.

Now you can add other things to it, like oatmeal or chocolate chips. I was going to add dried fruit to it to see how that works.
