Dear JSRP,
I do appreciate your feed back regarding my Frugal bathroom cleaner. As a matter of fact I gathered some information regarding bathroom cleaners from the popular US/Canada website called www.motherearthnews.com
If you could log into
www.motherearthnews.com/Modern-Homesteading/Natural-Homemade-Cleaners.aspx
You could be able to read following recipe:
"You can make cleaning solutions for most household applications with water and a few ingredients: castile soap, distilled white vinegar, baking soda, washing soda and borax. You also can use lemon juice, salt, tea tree oil, club soda and rubbing alcohol, depending on the stain or item you want to clean"
If I tell you the truth for the past couple of months I do clean my bathrooms everyday by using the frugal cleaner which I have mentioned and for me it works fantastic.
Good luck!
This sounds like a good idea on paper; however, most washing powders are basic, they have a high alkalinity. Vinegar is an acid; it will cancel out the washing powder. When these two are combined, it creates a chemical reaction and becomes water and a salt (not necessarily table salt). Therefore, when you put all this together, you are effectively washing with water, lemon juice, and salt. Which is a good cleaner for coffee pots or lightly soiled areas, but not the bathroom. Just wanted to give you a heads up!

A couple of years ago I had 2 kittens the fleas were literally eating alive. After I washed dishes, I dunked them (one at a time) in the warm dishwater. I rinsed with warm water and dried with fluffy towel and blowdryer. Yes,of course, I added a few more scars to my collection but not as many as I'd thought and also gained the very nice cats.
