A warm knife cuts baked items like brownies better than a cold knife. Just run the knife under hot water and then wipe it dry before cutting.

I've found that cutting brownies with anything plastic (rather than metal) works great...no dragging or tearing. I have a couple of the freebie tupperware scrapers that work best but you could use a plastic knife, turner, or spatula as well.
