These home-made dog biscuits are easy to make and dogs love them. They are also breath fresheners.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup corn meal
  • 1/4 cup wheat germ
  • 2 tsp mint extract
  • 2 tsp honey
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1/4 cup water

Directions

Mix all ingredients. Roll dough out 1/4-inch thick. Cut biscuits with cutter and place on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees F for about 15 minutes. Remove and cool for softer biscuits or turn oven off and leave biscuits in overnight for harder ones.

Tip: moisten fingers with water if dough is too sticky.

You can use grease drippings, gravy, or applesauce, it won't have the same breath freshers in it but dog will still love em. The honey will make them a nice golden brown color and if you don't have honey use brown sugar. I also make these and use 2/3 cup peanut butter but sometimes I have to add more water.

Is there something instead of mint extract you could use in these? I'm not even sure where to BUY mint extract.
