How do I remove a melted plastic water bottle from the bottom of a dishwasher?

You can also use a hair dryer on low to melt the plastic just enough so it will be easier to scrape off. The answer given above is right on--use plastic with plastic, never metal!

I've used a plastic spackling spatula. It was fairly easy and didn't harm the interior of the dishwasher.
