We live in Michigan and I make the same sugar water mixture for the oriole"s as I do humming birds which is 1 cup sugar and 4 cups water. First boil the 4 cups of water then stir in 1 cup of sugar just bring back to a boil and then cool before feeding the birds. Can store the rest in refrigerator about a week. Happy feeding, we also serve grape jelly to them in a special feeder my hubby made
