My 10 yr old daughter loves horses. I just primed, painted, and painted her bedroom. I hung a cute border (in the middle of the wall instead of top, her eye-level). Now, as I am attempting to put her furninture back into her pretty new room, it all covers the border!

She has a day bed, nightstand, dresser w/mirror, and two large bookshelves that held her collection of horses. They range from the stuffed ones, to very expensive collectible ceramic, glass, etc figurines of horses.

Does anyone have ideas on inexpensive shelving that could be mounted directly to the wall, maybe without sides so her border can be seen as well as the paint?

Have you looked at IKEA? They have a lot of very inexpensive, nice looking shelving.

Why not cut & paint boards and put it about 12 inches from the ceiling, all the way around the room. This is a great way to store the collection. Easy to look at without the shelving taking up floor space. And the expensive collectibles are out of tempting reach.
