Well, if you are looking for the area of the 18 foot circle the formula is pi times radius squared. That would be 3.14 times 9 feet squared. Or 3.14 times 81 or 254.34 square feet. So you could round it up to 255 square feet. If the sheets of styrofoam are 4 by 8 feet you will need 8 sheets.

We have a pool that the sides go up as we fill with water. We need to know how much sand is needed for a 16 x 16 foot area. But, since sand is expensive, is there a cheaper method to provide a soft, protective barrier for the pool base?
