I have found that the clickers that most people use are too loud. I like the soft sound of a ball point pen retracting instead. It marks behaviors you want very well, and you can carry it around easily.

If you knew anything about dogs you'd know that dogs hear much more (and louder) than a human, so the slightest noise gets their attention, no need for a soft ballpoint pen! In fact, dogs can hear the sound of your car driving down the street towards your home, and can recognize what your car sounds like as well.
