I have a couple of hanging baskets, they have pretty petunias. They have been in shade lately (whoopsie) and now they are very tall and sparse. (I assume from trying to get sun?) I have put them back out in a sunnier location, but how do I get them to fill out? Do I need to clip the tops off, or what? Thanks so much?

Thanks for all of the help! With the suggestions my petunias look great! (Sure would be nice to have some rain in these parts though.)
Thanks again!

Pinch them back pretty far if they are really spindly. Feed them and keep in sunshine. They should come back nicely. Keep watered also.

I often have trouble keeping my petunias looking good. They seem to get spindley after a while. This year, I asked the person at my favorite gardening center what the trick was. She told me petunias love to be fed. She said to feed them miracle gro every time I water them, and to keep them dead headed. So far so good. Hope it helps.

I'd try pinching them back. This will encourage bushy growth.
