I am not sure if Isopropyl is called Surgical Spirit in the UK but Rubbing Alcohol is called Surgical Spirit there. Rubbing alcohol is a diluted form of Isopropyl and generally has a small percentage of a moisturizing oil added to it and more often than not has a green tint to it. It is also called rubbing alcohol. It really helps with dissolving things like resin from clothing.
