Isopropyl Alcohol and Rubbing Alcohol are antiseptics. I am not sure if Isopropyl is called Surgical Spirit in the UK but Rubbing Alcohol is called Surgical Spirit there. Rubbing alcohol is a diluted form of Isopropyl and generally has a small percentage of a moisturizing oil added to it and more often than not has a green tint to it. Here in the US both are sold in pharmacies and grocery stores in the aisle that has bandages, hydrogen peroxide, etc.

I bought some from E Bay in the UK. It is also called rubbing alcohol. It really helps with dissolving things like resin from clothing.

Maybe it's not called isopropyl alcohol. Ask the pharmacist or look for rubbing alcohol/same thing.
