I have recently purchased a wonderful wood table with stone inlays on the top. The store put masking tape all over the top when shipping it up to hold the stones in firmly. I didn't think anything of it, bought the table, took it home, and removed the tape. Now there is masking tape residue all over the top of the wood and the stones and I can't get any of it off without scraping the wood. If I use "goo gone" on this table, will it ruin the finish of the wood (which is a dark brown)? Do you have any suggestions of how to remove this old, sticky stuff without dissolving the stain?

I need to know how to remove masking tape from wall paneling - they have taped every vein in the wall panelling - how do I remove it.

Editor's Note: I'd try the spray gel goo gone.

Saddle soap is just that a soap .. there are no dyes in it so it will not change the color of the leather .. just get the dirt out and condition the leather, making it softer

I would use a bit of rubbing alcohol on a paper towel or clean rag to remove the tape residue. It will dissolve the stickness ..

Good Luck
Rebekah

I am hoping that someone can help. I've read several posts and they recommended using saddle soap but, won't that change the color of the leather? Thanks.

Try Murphy's Oil Soap or Goo Gone.
