Check out Family Fun's site. They just had an article within the last two months issues on just the medieval theme.

OHH what fun!! First you could get some pool noodles and use them (cut in half) for jousting? I would serve smoked turkey legs, or meat on a stick (like from the chinese takeout), have a human chess game (the kids are the pieces), cover a chair with purple fabric to use as a throne, play musical chairs with celtic music, tell a funny story about a prince or princess, someone could dress as a gypsy and tell fortunes, have a "town crier" announce each activity, have the kids make shields and swords out of cardboard and foil. Play pin the tail on the dragon. Have a best burp contest (how rude those guys used to be!!)

Print invitations on your computer announcing "Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Prince (or Knight) Jimmy Jones Requests Your Presence at his Royal Birthday Party". Roll into a scroll and tie with red or blue ribbon.

Find a dragon pinata (a dinosaur would work fine, too) and decorate a stick or bat to look like a sword and let them slay the dragon!

I wrote an article for Associated Content on inexpensive theme birthday ideas here: http://www.associatedcontent.com/ar ... sive_theme_birthday_party_ideas.html

It might give you some other ideas! Hope that helps!
