Does anyone know of a website or list of items that soldiers stationed in Iraq are allowed to have? My son-in-law is being deployed to Iraq and we are going to have Christmas early so we can celebrate with him. I would like to get some gift ideas for him and find out what I can send him after he arrives there.

Thank you,
Terri from Indiana

I find an astounding out of the ordinary line of Christmas gifts for deployed servicemen and women. Active Duty Iraq (or Afghanistan) rings and bands in Black Titanium, shipped exclusively to the boys & girls in those theaters (as they refer to their deployment territory). Sent directly and ONLY to military post addresses in those areas (to guaranty eligibility!). They are the brainchild of the designers of Absolute Titanium Design (http://www.absolutetitanium.com/military-ring.php). I think it is a terrific & unusual gift that will have them carry on them a lifetime..!

There's a site called http://www.anysoldier.com where they connect soldiers asking for things with people who want to send stuff. Anyways, there is a list on the site for stuff that is okay to send, and what they generally ask for.

SEVERAL MONTHS AGO I SUBMITTED THE SAME REQUEST AND SEVERAL VIEWERS WERE NICE ENOUGH TO GIVE ME SEVERAL SITES TO GO TO. I'M SURE THRIFTYFUN WOULD BE HAPPY TO GIVE YOU THE LINK. MY SON JUST GOT BACK FROM IRAQ :)
