It looks more cohesive if you match the fixtures with your door hardware, but as long as all the fixtures match and they blend with the door handles you're fine.
Just keep in mind: very shiny brass or chrome hardware can end up looking messy and corroded as years pass. Go with satin finish on a coppertone or pewter hardware.
In an all white house any color will work! But think about the future. You may want to add a colorful trim in the future. Think about that! For example, if you think you might like a gray or charcoal color trim, then you'd want Pewter, Silver or Black. If you'd like a beige or mustard trim then you'd need Gold, brass or Copper.
* Here's another tip: Brass & Gold is usually used in "Traditional" decor's. Pewter & Silver & Brushed Aluminum is in used in modern decor's & Black or Copper is used in "Antique" or "Old Fashioned" decor's. So, if you still can't decide, then take a look at your home & see what "style" it is outside!
---> And, yes! The door locks & any other trims should match, Outside. Inside can be something different entirely.
Another tip: Ask about the hardware. Will it tarnish & fade. Is there a clear UV coat added? How thick is the overlay metal? You don't want your hardware to change color or wear off after several years out in the elements! This is one of the rare times when a good brand name might be the way to go. They tend to stand behind their products. Also for safety, make sure your outdoor lights have the UL certification!
