Inexpensive Protective Storage for CDs

Do you know of a cheap way to protect the surface of CDs? I don't want to spend the money or add to the unnecessary plastic in the world by buying jewel cases. Any ideas?

I found a big binder to keep mine in and love it. It's a zipper kind, so dust and bugs stay out, and the dvd's and cd's can be separated. Be careful of ziplock bags, as they can create static electricity and that is a dust magnet. Good Luck

Ask on Freecycle- some-one will have old cases they want to get rid of. Marg from England.
