If you would like to set small items on your car dashboard without having them fall off when you make a turn, use a leftover piece of the rubberized shelf liner used in kitchen cabinets. It works great, and it's just the right size for a cell phone, sunglasses, etc. Plus, if you buy it in the kitchen section at discount stores, it's usually cheaper than a similar roll in the auto or RV area.
