I'd like suggestions on what color(s) to paint our living room walls. Our couch and my husband's chair are dark blue. The throw pillows on the couch have jewel-tone colors such as purple, green, gold, and blue. My chair is the same pattern/colors as the pillows.
Here's an update 3 years later when we are FINALLY able to have our living room painted. We've decided to paint one wall a lavender/purple color but still need to decide on what color for the other 3 walls. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Try taupe, beige, or pale yellow. Painting it a color will probably make the room too busy. A neutral color will make your current colored items "pop".

Gold sounds nice. And maybe do something geometric with the jewel-tone colors, like a narrow stripe of each around the top of the walls, or a jagged stripe on one wall, something that would bring the whole room together.

My daughter has a gold living room/den and it is beautiful. It sounds like that would work for you.
