Aggie (Shepherd Mix)

Aggie is a 12 year old Shepherd mix. We adopted her from the SPCA about a year ago. Since she was a senior dog, no one really wanted her so she was there four long months waiting for a home.

We had the opportunity to adopt another dog into our family and were searching the SPCA web site when my son Brady spotted her. He was very compassionate towards her and the fact that she was such an old dog. We went and looked at her and adopted her that day!

Her favorite thing is squeaky toys! She always has to have one in her mouth. When she wants to eat some dry dog food she gently places the toy in the bowl, eats her food and when she is done, picks up the toy and leaves.

Aggie is attached to Brady like glue! She will not leave his side. She sleeps with him at night and knows the exact time to get up so she can ride in the car with me to pick him up from school. If he goes out to ride his bike, she patiently waits by the front door until he returns. I think they have both made each other very happy!

What a kind-hearted young man Brady is! You must be very proud of him. It is so sad when older animals get rejected by people, and few are given second chances even though they have years of love left. Thank you for sharing your story and picture!

It's so wonderful that you chose to give a forever home to Aggie, even if forever is for a short time. Thanks for sharing her!
