My dog won't stop peeing in the house every time someone comes near him. What can I do?

I used to have a dog that got excited whenever anyone was around and would pee almost instantly when someone new visited. Another dog I knew but didn't have would pee because she was an abused pup and was scared silly whenever someone got near. I can't say I have a solution for either problem but I would imagine you would need to figure out if she is excited or scared before you can figure out how to get her to stop.
