Beer Can Chicken

Ingredients
  • 1 round disposable tin
  • 1 half a can of beer
  • 1 whole chicken 3-5lb (cleaned free of inners)
  • cooking spray oil of choice
  • garlic/pepper
  • choice of: small apple, onion, slices of pineapple

Directions

Preheat barbecue all burners on high, then change to in-direct heat. Top/bottom burners on med. Center off.

Take disposable tin and place a half of beer in its can center. Place the whole chicken legs down neck up. Place a small apple, onion of choice or pineapple slices into the neck and cover with skin. Spray with cooking spray, breast, legs, thighs, back and sprinkle with garlic and pepper

Tip: Sprinkle garlic/pepper into hands then pat onto chicken. It sticks better that way.

Center onto grill. Temp should read around 350 degrees F a little higher is fine. Close the lid for 1hr 20 mins.

This is a delicious moist chicken.

There are holders out there(Walmart) you can use for the beer can for better support. I have done both ways.

You can heat up barbecue sauce to pour on after cooked.

For the pineapple you can heat up teriyaki sauce. Yummy moist chicken!
