Ginger Snaps

It is that time of year again, taste yummy and the house smells like the Holidays!

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • additional sugar

Directions:

Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg and molasses, beat well. Add dry ingredients. Shape dough into balls and roll in sugar. Bake 10 - 12 minutes at 375 degrees F.

Recipe: Ginger Snaps

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • flour

Directions

Combine the above and stiffen with flour. Roll in small balls with hands. Place on greased cookie sheet, not too close together. Bake at 375 degrees F for 8-10 minutes.

  • 1 cup shortening
  • 2 cups sugar + extra for topping
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. ginger
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. soda

Directions

Cream shortening and sugar together in bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs, mixing well. Add molasses, mixing well. Sift remaining ingredients together. Add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Shape into tablespoon sized balls. Place on cookie sheet and flatten slightly. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 375 degrees F for 8-10 minutes.
