Ingredients

  • 1 large can (29 oz.) canned pumpkin
  • 12 oz. can of evaporated milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 yellow cake mix
  • 3/4 cup melted butter or margarine

Directions

Combine the first 6 ingredients (this essentially makes a pumpkin custard similar to pumpkin pie filling). Pour into lightly greased 9x13 inch pan. Sprinkle the cake mix on top with all of the dry cake mix. Drizzle the butter all over the top. Bake at 350 degrees F for 60 minutes or until done.

They say you can use cherry filling or apple filling from cans instead. I think you would need 2 cans of pie filling.

yes the cake with blueberry or apple or cherry is called a dump cake. no milk or eggs tho are needed with that. you just "DUMP" it all into pan and bake.

This is my most favorite dessert to make for special events in the fall. It is absolutely wonderful and SO easy to make. I get a lot of compliments and requests for the recipe. I like to add a touch of whipped cream to the top before serving.
Thanks for posting!
