They all "naturally" use clam. Decorate the shells all around the float with lights, garlands, glitter, etc. decorated trees "on the shore". You could use ideas with all the characters with a Christmas theme to it. Make each tree a different color them pink lights and pink decorations and pink garland . Make another a different color. Blue decorations, blue lights, blue garland. Then put matching garland around the outside of the clam shells. Paint the clam shells silver and make silver bells the theme. You could use different colored Christmas paper to cover the float. Get ringer bells for the float or music on a stereo. If you have to put flowers use poinsettias all around the outside of float. With silver garland around the edges with white lights.
