Picking Colors When Decorating

When you are decorating a room, paint it white or cream then pick one of your favourite dark colours. Use this color for the curtains, light shade, bedding and throw. Add a light colour that you like (any colour, not too dark ) for the accessories; like flowers, cushions, rugs, etc.

Try these combinations:

  • blue and black
  • pink and brown
  • purple and brown
  • green and blue
  • green and purple
  • red and black

I love the pink and brown color combination! I've also gotten into the faux finishes. You can really do a lot with it. Here's a good starter on that topic:
