I painted my kitchen cabinets a Cinnamon Spice color, but now they look bland and boring. Is there anything I can put on top of the paint, like a faux wash of some sort that would make them look better? Can I sponge paint another color over that?

Do a little research on "marbling " techniques used to create "Granite" looks then go buy a sea sponge. Use one or two colours ( perhaps your wall & bench colours) slightly load with paint & dab on sparingly. Build up colour till your happy then over paint with a clear layer.

You could try painting a border of a contrasting colour.

Sponge painting is easy, forgiving, and lots of fun, I highly recommend it.
Choose a complimentary color and go for it.... you can always paint over it if the effects are undesired.
With a cinnamon spice color, try an orange tint, or mustard tint.
You can do an all over treatment, or a pattern, or even section it out to look like brick, or faux plaster.
Sponges vary from sea sponges which are small to hand sized, found in the craft section, .... to a big kitchen type square/rectangle, which can be cut into neat shapes.
Start off with a dry sponge, because drippy paint is the enemy...... lol.
Have fun!
Bet you could find a tutorial online about sponging.
