Meaning of Dates on Nutrisystem Products?

I just started on Nutrisystem and in checking my food all of the dates appearing on the packages seemed to have already expired. The dates are 052011, 061111, 062011. The Customer Service Department at Nutrisystem claims these are the production dates and not the expiration dates. Does anyone know if this is true? I was on the diet about 5 years ago and all of the dates on my food were future dates not past dates.

I think they are expiration dates. Usually it will say expiration date followed by the date. Date of manufacture is a different code that usually gives the date of manufacture as well as the plant that produced the product. That helps identify the product in case of a recall. The expiration code means last day of sale but the product is still good. You may find more information on google.com.

They sound like expiration dates to me. Especially if you are familiar with nutrisystem in the past.
