Save some money remodeling a room by giving worn out and spotted bronze/chrome fixtures a rich faux aged bronze look.

Revitalize faded and worn out brass or chrome fixtures by removing them from the wall and giving them a light sanding. Spray fixture thoroughly with a brown/dark brown spray paint. When dry, give a light dusting with black spray paint (do not cover all of the foundation brown). The result is an aged bronze look, and no need to buy new fixtures!

Also, some spray paints have a "hammered" texture. These work very well, also!

Thanks for the "Instant Bronzing" tip!!

Yes, those "Hammered" type spray (or brush type) paints are also super-heavy-duty & REALLY hold up well too! And with the hammered type of paints you also need no primer & they'll go over any surface without sanding or priming (even melamine). BUT NEVER use them on a kitchen counter or work space! They may be awesome but they have some kind of toxin in them that can't come in contact with food... I wonder if it's like this with all oil-based paints?
