Prepare macaroni and cheese mix according to package directions, except do not add salt to water. Stir ham or chicken, cottage cheese, sour cream, onion and pepper into prepared macaroni and cheese.
Transfer to 1 1/2 qt. casserole. Combine bread crumbs, melted butter and sprinkle over casserole. Bake in 375 degrees F. oven for 30 minutes or until heated through. Serves 4.
